About your role :

We are seeking a culinary professional with leadership experience for the position of Head Chef at our mining village operation in Ernest Henry Village, Cloncurry QLD. This role operates on a 14/7 roster and is FIFO from Cairns and Brisbane only.

  • Food preparation and presentation (breakfast, crib, dinner, and functions)
  • Adherence to dietary requirements (allergies, special requests)
  • Assist with stock ordering, rotation, and stocktaking
  • Maintain a clean kitchen, equipment, and utensils
  • Follow legislated food hygiene and safety practices
  • Provide fast, effective service with a friendly attitude
  • Assist the broader team as needed

About you :

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in all aspects of kitchen operations and food service, preferably in a remote environment
  • Manual drivers' license (preferred) and forklift license (desirable)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong commitment to friendly, professional customer service
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
  • Resourcefulness, resilience, and creative thinking
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and time-sensitive environment
  • Pride in personal appearance and hygiene
