About the role

The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) is launching a new, purpose-built Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (MHRU) at Noarlunga Hospital (NH). This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new service and team, helping to shape the future of mental health care in the community. MHRU is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide a supportive and recovery-oriented environment for consumers with high and complex needs. This role also offers the opportunity to coordinate the management of clozapine across all SALHN sites, forming an integral part of the Pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams. This coincides with a new NH Pharmacy dispensary and broader workforce expansion to support the NH Uplift.

In this hands-on role, you will work under the guidance of the AHA or AHP Leader to deliver high-standard pharmacy services across designated units. Your responsibilities include clinical support, dispensing, distribution, pharmaceutical packaging, inventory management, and the preparation or manufacturing of medicines. You will also organize daily workloads, monitor quality standards, and provide technical training to staff to ensure smooth operations.

Collaboration is key. You will work closely with supervisors, the multidisciplinary team, and the Pharmacy Manager(s) to support the safe, effective, and cost-effective delivery of drug therapy. Your contribution will help optimize patient care and outcomes, impacting individual journeys and the broader healthcare service. This role is ideal for bringing your technical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality into a dynamic team environment.

About You

You are a motivated pharmacy professional with a strong technical background and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-focused services. You have proven expertise in multiple pharmacy practice areas, with leadership, teamwork, and hands-on technical skills.

You hold a relevant Certificate IV or higher qualification, with demonstrated competence in at least two pharmacy practice areas, along with strong technical, arithmetic, and communication skills.

You have extensive hospital pharmacy experience, including supervising, teaching, coaching, and training staff, with proficiency in pharmacy management software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Word.

You possess excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

You have comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceutical products, dispensing and production methods, regulatory frameworks, and ethical practices, with a commitment to continual learning and safe work practices.
