Chambers Russell Lawyers is a fast growing firm with its head office located in the Sydney CBD. We practice across commercial, construction, civil litigation, debt-recovery, insurance, personal injury, strata and property law.


Role title: Human Resources Generalist | Graduate Diploma in Psychology (Adv)


Responsibilities

We have an opportunity for a motivated paralegal to join our growing Sydney team. This exciting role will see you work under the supervision and guidance of our Partners. You will be enthusiastic and pragmatic in your approach, possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to liaise with clients directly. You will have a keen eye for detail and excellent time management skills.


A commitment to investing in our key practice areas, learning the work that we do and executing on getting that work done is what we are looking for in the ideal candidate. However, experience in commercial litigation or construction law background will be highly regarded.


Appointment to this position will be made on an ongoing full-time basis. Part time applications, at a minimum of 4 days per week, may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • Drafting general correspondence (e.g. letter of Advice, briefing letter to barristers)
  • Drafting briefs and Court documents (e.g. Briefs, Cost Assessment applications, Short Minutes of Order, Affidavits of Service, Court Bundles)
  • Liaising with clients
  • Legal research tasks
  • Reviewing and/or creating case summaries and articles
  • Other adhoc tasks as required

Qualifications
  • Penultimate or final year University student completing Bachelor of Laws or equivalent
  • Minimum two years previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal
  • Excellent attention to detail together with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed time management skills
  • A willingness to learn, positive approach and strong initiative
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in the MS Office suite
  • Experience with Affinity would be highly regarded
