Job Description

The Opportunity

Mechanical Engineering Graduate Program

Viva's Geelong Refinery converts crude oil into transport fuels, solvents, plastic and bitumen playing a key role in transitioning to sustainable energy solutions. We have two roles available for Mechanical Engineering graduates to join our Reliability, Maintenance and Operations teams that will enable you to acquire valuable skills and experience in the following areas:

  1. Pumps, industrial gearboxes, cooling fans, motors, heat exchangers, valves, steam turbines and pressure vessels.
  2. Analysis of reciprocating and turbo compressor performance and health including scoping of repairs and improvements.
  3. Providing guidance and technical advice to the maintenance and operations departments.
  4. Repair scoping, technical guidance and identification of improvements for equipment breakdowns and during maintenance interventions.
  5. Liaising with global original equipment manufacturers and engineering consultants.
  6. Oil refining processes and how mechanical equipment contributes to safe and reliable operation.
  7. Heavy industry maintenance, safety systems, management of change and reduction of down time methods in general.
Qualifications

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold permanent residency.
  2. Completed the relevant undergraduate or post-graduate degree in the required discipline (within the past 2 years) prior to commencing the program.

  1. Full time ongoing permanent position.
