Property - Senior Associate / Special Counsel

We are seeking a Senior Associate or Special Counsel with 7+ years PQE to join our Sydney Property team focusing on commercial buy/sell matters.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join our Sydney Property team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years' PQE and demonstrate the ability to manage complex property transactions for institutional clients with minimal supervision. This role will primarily focus on commercial buy/sell matters, with a secondary component of landlord leasing work, including development lease.

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Acting on acquisitions, disposals, and related matters, primarily on office, industrial or retail assets
  • Draft, negotiate, and review documentation including contracts for sale, due diligence reports, and commercial leasing documents
  • Manage stakeholder engagement with clients, agents, and financiers throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Support / supervise leasing matters, including lease preparation, compliance, and negotiation
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and oversee risk management in all transactional activities
  • Collaborate across teams, sharing expertise and contributing to professional development initiatives

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • 7+ years' PQE in property law, ideally from a mid or top-tier firm, with a strong focus on transactional matters
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex property transactions independently
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring a team will be highly regarded
  • Exceptional attention to detail, commercial thinking, and client service skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
  • Proactive mindset and collaborative approach to teamwork
