Graduate Software Engineer (Sydney)

About the role

We are looking for a talented Graduate Software Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This role will be an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with a strong background in software development and is keen to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.

Working at Australia's leading Digital Marketing Insights technology company, under the guidance of a great team, including directly working under the supervision of an ex-Google veteran Software Engineer, you will be working on a wide range of projects, such as developing the latest in AI driven insights. This is an opportunity for a super smart Software Engineer who really wants to learn all aspects of front end, back end, UX, and product development engineering and someone who wants to deliver immediate impact. You will be strong in maths and have a passion for problem solving, code and building things that work elegantly and powerfully to deliver value.

Role & responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior developers to create responsive and engaging web applications
  • Provide support in building new features, pages, and components using technologies such as React, CSS, TypeScript, etc.)
  • Build and enhance backend data collection using technologies such as Ruby, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Hasura, AWS
  • Write code - ensuring it is maintainable, well-documented, and clean
  • Contribute to code reviews and follow coding standards and guidelines
  • Consistently contribute to learning and apply new frontend development technologies and techniques

Experience:

  • Must be a degree holder in Software Engineering, or a related field (or final year or first year out)
  • Ideally have a software project or app you have produced and can share your code
  • Familiarity with Google Suite of Products, Slack & Asana (a bonus)
  • Flexible approach to work, with an agile mindset
  • Organized, detail-oriented, proactive and exceptional at taking a project from conception to implementation
  • Excellent in communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills (must have strong written and verbal English)
  • Ready to learn and be challenged
  • Passionate about driving results

The role is full-time, hybrid (with 2-3 days in office per week).
