External Fulfillment supports AU Operations in identifying the best ways to fulfill products that Amazon FCs (Fulfillment Centers) cannot currently support. The role includes interfacing with the Third Party Logistics (3PL) providers and being the main POC for all internal teams such as Transportation, Retail and Supply Chain. The main tasks will be management, control and direction for the 3PL operations. The main objective is to continuously improve the level of service that the 3PL provides to our customers.

The 3PL Operations Manager will be responsible for both launch and improvement projects within the External Fulfillment Emerging Markets, Inbound and Special solutions team and will contribute to the development of Amazon's flexible & customer-centric fulfillment.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Manage and control performance, cost and capacity of External Fulfillment Logistics provider (3PL)
  2. Monitor and analyze customer experience and delivery performance, maintain and develop KPIs and SLAs with 3PL
  3. Contribute to process improvements and cost optimization initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  4. Prioritize projects and software feature requests, evaluate and set stakeholder expectations
  5. Ensure for each integration that requirements and resources both internal / external are available to deliver success
  6. Work closely with technical development teams to deliver features which are customer-focused, scaleable, auditable and iteratively developed
  7. Possesses combination of practical and intellectual skills and an ability to shift, and adapt to different tasks that vary between complex analyses and hands-on project and operations management
  8. Strong focus on quantitative data working with large datasets and able to use the appropriate software for this scale
  9. Willingness to travel to 3PL and AU sites
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in (Industrial/Mechanical) Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and MS Project
  3. Strong data analysis skills - Ability to produce, interpret and draw conclusions from data
  4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels
  5. Theoretical and practical knowledge of Lean techniques such as Kaizen or Six Sigma
  6. Technical expertise - Solution-driven approach to systems & processes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Proven operations leadership experience in a similar fast-paced process driven manufacturing, production or distribution/logistics environment
  2. Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position
  3. Past experience or study of startup operations and/or 3PL environments
  4. Team player who can facilitate successful project work, operating to deadlines
  5. Experience with analytical tools such as data warehouse tables: SQL / Visual Basic / Power BI
  6. Masters degree in (Industrial/Mechanical) Engineering, Operations, Business Administration
