Position: Agricultural Technician

Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 Plus Super

Location: 69 Florda Gold Drive, Wells Crossing, NSW, 2460

Mode: Full Time

Experience: 2-3 years

Hours: 38 hours per week

DEO NIRMAAN GOLD PTY LTD is a leading horticulture company specializing in cucumber cultivation. We focus on innovation and sustainable practices to maintain excellence in our agricultural operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct assessments of farmland's topographical, physical, and soil characteristics specific to cucumber horticulture to optimize land use and identify nutrient deficiencies.
  2. Collaborate on developing innovative planting, fertilizing, harvesting, and processing methods tailored to cucumber cultivation to maximize productivity.
  3. Identify pests, diseases, and weeds affecting cucumber crops and assist in developing control strategies.
  4. Analyze cucumber produce to ensure quality standards are met throughout production.
  5. Inspect plants to evaluate feeding regimes and nutrient effectiveness.
  6. Assist in breeding experiments to enhance cucumber crop traits.
  7. Coordinate procurement of pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and chemicals, providing guidance on their use.
  8. Organize data for research and development in cucumber horticulture.
  9. Plan harvesting and processing to ensure efficiency and quality.
  10. Advise farmers on farming techniques to optimize yields and sustainability.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field.
  • Previous experience in agricultural production, preferably in cucumber farming.
  • Knowledge of soil science, crop management, pest and disease control.
  • Ability to operate agricultural machinery and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
