2026 Graduate Diploma of Midwifery Clinical Placement at Western Health. This program provides a supported clinical placement experience rotating through Maternity Services to complete the graduate component of the degree.

About The Role

Western Health is seeking applications for the 2026 Graduate Diploma of Midwifery – Clinical Placements. Successful applicants will participate in a structured clinical placement across relevant areas of Maternity Services. The role is not employed or paid for the duration of the placement; students are rostered within a rotating schedule as part of the program.

About The Program

• Full Time: 6 days per fortnight as a student across all areas of Maternity (not employed/not paid)
• Part Time: 3 days per fortnight as a student across all areas of Maternity (not employed/not paid)
• Successful places are subject to acceptance from the University offering a place in their Graduate Diploma of Midwifery – 2026

About You

• Must be planning to study the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery in 2026
• Must be eligible to work as a Registered Nurse in Australia in 2026
• Must have 2 years experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute setting

Application and Employment Model

The Paid Employment Model is yet to be confirmed for 2026. In your cover letter, indicate your expression of interest in completing the employment model (six days per fortnight employed as a Registered Nurse in the Postnatal Unit and paid clinical placement). Please contact your university regarding the theoretical component, as the structure varies between education providers around clinical placements and concurrent theory time. All assignments and exams are set by each university.
