The Pharmacy Department at Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Pharmacy Student to join their team on a casual basis.

This Expression of Interest collects a variety of information to help identify potentially suitable applicants for future opportunities.

The Pharmacy Student role involves performing clinical support activities and developing on-the-job skills while engaged in full-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry-level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland.

Students are employed casually to accommodate their study commitments while gaining pre-registration workplace exposure. They contribute to the pharmacy service delivery model within Mackay Base Hospital under the delegation and supervision of a pharmacist, supporting effective patient care.

Our Pharmacy Service at Mackay Base Hospital provides patient-centered pharmacy services, seven days a week, including medication on hospital prescriptions for inpatient use.
