Werribee Mercy Hospital, located just 25 km west of Melbourne on the Princes Highway, is a dynamic public general hospital offering a wide range of services, including surgical, maternity, orthopaedic, and a 24-hour emergency department. Since opening in January 1994, the hospital has grown rapidly to meet the needs of Melbourne's fast-growing western suburbs. A new emergency department is currently underway with a view to be completed late 2026, expanding treatment spaces from 33 to 67. This includes four new resuscitation bays, 16 short stay beds, and 36 emergency care cubicles to serve a rapidly growing population.

We are currently seeking a Sonographer to support the team at Werribee. Our new public hospital provides a dynamic environment where you'll be supported by a dedicated and collaborative team, led by flexible and supportive management working across operation theatres, a newly built emergency department, and ICU.

This position is offered on a full-time or part-time basis, working Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with on-call shift work and occasional weekend shifts.

Relocation support is available for successful candidates looking to join our region.

To be successful in this role:

  • Qualified Sonographer with ASAR Accreditation
  • Competent with general US exams, obstetrics, and MSK
  • Dual qualified Sonographer/Radiographer candidates are welcome, with support for their development
  • Commitment to quality and patient care
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to thrive in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to prioritize a busy workload and work effectively both independently and within a team
