Job Title – Cloud Architect and Consultant

Location- Melbourne

• We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Architect & Consultant to lead cloud transformation projects and provide innovative solutions that are secure, scalable, and cost-efficient. This role focuses on migrating applications from on-premise systems to AWS Cloud while ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory standards and adapting to future metering data management needs.
• Key Responsibilities
• Design and execute comprehensive cloud transformation strategies for transitioning applications from on-premise to AWS Cloud.
• Conduct gap assessments based on cloud migration discovery outputs for in-scope applications, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
• Perform high-level technical and operational readiness assessments, including:
  • IT operations readiness review.
  • Development of target state architecture.
  • Creation of detailed migration plans.
• Identify risks and dependencies associated with migration projects and provide actionable treatment recommendations.
• Deliver insights and recommendations for implementing secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions, ensuring continued modernization of application suites.
• Assess technical and financial feasibility to provide migration treatment plans.
• Implement and manage cloud infrastructure components, including IaaS, virtual machines (VMs), networks, firewalls, and security protocols.
• Manage data migration processes, ensuring robust encryption measures for data at rest and in transit, as well as optimizing ingress and egress paths.
• Must Have Skills
• Strong knowledge of cloud transformation processes, particularly for AWS Cloud.
• Expertise in cloud operations management, migration, and modernization techniques.
• Proven ability to design secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions tailored to business needs.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as a service (IaaS), virtual machines, network setup, and firewalls.
• Solid understanding of data encryption protocols, both at rest and in transit.
• Ability to analyse risks and dependencies in migration projects and provide strategic recommendations.
• Familiarity with AWS Landing Zone and IT operations readiness assessments.
• Good-to-Have Skills and Competencies
• Knowledge of ANZ Energy Market and Regulatory Compliance.
• Familiarity with SAP systems, Meter Data Management software (example, ITRON) etc.
• Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner).
• Extensive experience in cloud architecture and consulting roles.
