Your OpportunityBe a Game-Changer Our Going Places Program seeks energetic and compassionate Senior Case Worker to assist individuals facing chronic homelessness or sleeping rough. Bring your leadership skills to support staff in managing clients with complex needs and guide them towards stable housing and a brighter future. Join us and turn your passion into impactful action
Going Places is a multidisciplinary street-to-home program combining clinical health services with coordinated case management to support people sleeping rough in Cairns in moving into stable, long-term housing.
Key responsibilities will be:- Provide support to Case Workers and mentors who deliver intensive ongoing case management to clients
- Review clients' progress against support plans and support staff as needed
- Advocate actively for clients with other services and government agencies
- Contribute to sharing knowledge and best practices with other services, agencies, and community members
- Encourage and enhance team spirit and contribute to maintaining a supportive team environment
- Maintain program knowledge and expertise, keeping up with sector developments
- Qualifications in Community Work, Social Work, Psychology, or Behavioral Sciences preferred
- Experience in a leadership role within the homelessness sector
- Ability to provide specialized or complex therapeutic interventions and manage a caseload of clients with complex needs
- Risk assessment skills and ability to manage challenging client behaviors
- Strong organizational skills and effective time management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy
Before starting, you will need to undertake a national police check, provide qualifications and referee checks, and obtain a working with children/vulnerable persons clearance.
