Based in Cairns, you'll provide technical leadership and drive business growth within the Roads and Streets market across North Queensland. You'll play a key role in mentoring junior staff, leading projects, and strengthening our local project management and civil engineering capabilities.

The Opportunity
  • Lead, manage and deliver complex civil engineering and transport infrastructure projects from feasibility to detailed design.
  • Oversee project teams, resources and budgets, while mentoring and developing junior and mid-level staff.
  • Manage client relationships and represent Arup across local and state government, contractors and private clients.
  • Drive business development efforts, including proposal writing, tendering, and contract negotiation.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for the North Queensland market, positioning Arup as a partner of choice.
Is this role right for you?
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Chartered Engineer status, and RPEQ registration.
  • Deep knowledge of TMR and Austroads design standards and proven experience in project delivery for Transport and Main Roads (TMR).
  • A strong network and knowledge of the Far North Queensland infrastructure market.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for mentoring others.
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary project teams and deliver cost-effective, sustainable solutions.
