Overview

Technical Business Analyst (EL1 Equivalent). Our Health Focussed Client is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support critical data and analytics initiatives. This is a hands-on, documentation-focused role—perfect for someone who enjoys technical writing, creating clarity from complexity, and enabling successful project delivery.

This position is EL1-equivalent, based in Canberra, ACT, with at least 3 days onsite per week required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create clear, accurate, and consistent technical and process documentation.
  • Translate stakeholder discussions and high-level input into actionable requirements and artefacts.
  • Develop Proof of Concept (POC), Pilot, and RFQ documentation including objectives, success criteria, and technical requirements.
  • Prepare tender packs with functional and technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and state documentation.
  • Conduct gap analysis and document current- and future-state processes, systems, data flows, and integrations (ETL, APIs, Cloud).
  • Support rollout readiness through transition planning, migration documentation, and handover artefacts.
  • Use tools such as Visio and Confluence to create process maps, swim-lane diagrams, data flows, and integration specifications.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Strong skills in technical documentation and visualisation tools (Visio, Confluence).
  • Proven business analysis experience with a focus on documentation.
  • Familiarity with data and analytics concepts including data lakes, reporting tools, ETL processes, APIs, metadata, and cloud platforms.
  • A detail-oriented, structured approach and ability to work independently.
Role Details
  • Location: Canberra, ACT (onsite at least 3 days/week)
  • Contract Duration: 6 months + 1 x 6-month extension
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Security Clearance: Not required
  • Start Date: 29 September 2025
