Contracts Administrator - commercial & unit contractor

Initial Project – $25M mid-rise unit

Site based position located near Sunnybank in South Brisbane

$130,000 - $160,000 + Super on offer (D.O.E) – Monday – Friday working week.

Experience of multi-residential projects will be hugely beneficial – think townhouses and units.

Growing contractor in Brisbane with an excellent reputation and a huge pipeline of work in the region.

Great opportunity for an experienced Contracts Administrator to join an excellent Brisbane based building contractor who prides themselves in their excellent reputation, repeat business and quality of project delivery. With approximately 40 permanent members of staff in Brisbane, this contractor delivers new build projects up to $40M within the mid-rise, multi-residential space, for both private developers and public agencies such as Defence Housing or NDIS. Current projects in Brisbane include community housing, government housing, retirement living, and higher-end unit and townhouse complexes.

The initial project:

Medium rise unit, 40 units across 5 storeys with 1 level basement parking

D&C, $25M

Located near Sunnybank in Brisbane's Southern suburbs.

On this initial project, reporting to the Project Manager, you will join a site team located close by and will play a key role in delivering this medium density housing project.

On a day-to-day basis you will perform the following duties:

  1. Contract letting and procurement.
  2. Cost reporting and forecasting.
  3. Working on a Design and Construct (D&C) project.
  4. Preparing Scope of Works.
  5. Managing RFI's.
  6. Assessing progress claims and subcontract payments.
  7. Preparing and submitting variations to the client.

To be suitable for this position, it is anticipated that you will possess the following:

  1. A minimum of 5+ years' experience as a Contracts Administrator.
  2. Ideally, a construction-related tertiary qualification in Construction Management or Engineering.
  3. Unit and townhouse construction experience in the mid-rise, multi-space is key.
  4. Experience with Jobpac costing software is beneficial, but not essential.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Must have worked for reputable Australian building contractors in the mid-tier building contracting space as a CA.
  7. Experience with construction software and systems such as CHEOPS, Jobpac, and/or Procore would be hugely beneficial.
