About The Role

Reporting to the State Manager, this role is an integral part of the VIC operations team responsible for achieving key business objectives while delivering safe, timely, and cost-efficient production and delivery of ferrous and non-ferrous materials to meet our customer promise.

The key responsibilities focus on maximizing returns by leading the implementation of Transport and Logistics strategies, plans, and projects for the VIC Recycling Business, ensuring alignment with the overall business plan.

You will develop, coach, and champion a culture of continuous improvement to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of the transport and logistics functions across all VIC Recycling sites.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Developing and executing transport planning and scheduling in collaboration with Trading and Operational teams
  • Managing the Transport Team
  • Capacity and operational planning
  • Managing carrier and fleet performance
  • Implementing, monitoring, and governing transport systems to ensure safety and customer compliance
  • Identifying and implementing transport initiatives to ensure timely, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of products to and from customers and suppliers
  • Ensuring continuous improvement of the Waste Edge system across VIC

We seek a safety-focused leader with strong influencing and communication skills and a passion for delivering high standards on time and within budget.

Foundations for Success
  • 5+ years of logistics management experience, preferably in transport planning
  • Experience in building and leading teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience managing fleet and carriers
  • Knowledge of vehicle types, capacity, load configuration, and load restraint
  • Advanced stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of SAP, Weighbridge, and Waste Edge systems is advantageous
  • Proven problem-solving and process improvement capabilities
