About the Role

The purpose of the role is to provide front line customer service by assisting customers with the use of waste disposal and recovery facilities, providing direction and advice, encouraging waste diversion and providing assistance to resolve queries.

The role provides services at the sites, including but not limited to, customer service, litter management, supervision of recycling processes, maintenance of the signage, maintenance of the hazardous waste collection sheds, supervision of the public at the transfer station, operation of conveyor/compactor system, operation of a tip well system, operation of the gatehouse, assisting the leading hand to ensure all tasks on the site are completed, and any other duties as required for the operation of the site.

This is a casual role - hours will include weekend work and cover for sick/annual leave. Work location may vary across any of Council's 5 waste facilities as required.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD).
  • Ability to operate, maintain and clean associated facilities and storage locations to a high standard.
  • Assist customers to utilize facilities to maximise waste diversion and enhance resource recovery.
  • Computer skills as required to operate weighbridge software and associated technology.
  • Demonstrated experience in the waste management/disposal industry is desirable.
