About the Role
As the Grade 2 Speech Pathologist you will be responsible for the assessment and management of communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in primarily the acute setting including caseloads such as Neurology, Critical Care, Oncology, General Medicine.

Your duties will include the delivery of the highest standard of speech pathology services to patients at St Vincent's incorporating the mission and values of the Mary Aikenhead Ministries by:

  • Assessing and managing patients in accordance with up-to-date knowledge of departmental clinical policies and guidelines, and currently accepted Speech Pathology Australia professional standards of practice
  • Implementing speech pathology services that are based on the latest available evidence
  • Participating in continuous improvement and quality improvement
    • Providing clinical supervision to Speech Pathology students

Classifications for this position will range from VW1-VW4 ($90,235.60 - $103,724.40)

Your Contribution

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), or Bachelor Speech Pathology, or equivalent
  • Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia and knowledge of Speech Pathology Australia position papers / Code of Ethics
  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

The Speech Pathology Department is committed to providing high quality Speech Pathology services to patients with communication and swallowing disorders at St. Vincent's Hospital Melbourne.
