About The Role

This organisation is seeking an experienced APS6 Project Team Leader with a strong consulting background and proven expertise in at least two of the following key areas: transformation delivery, business analysis, procurement, or financial management. The ideal candidate will be adept at driving project outcomes, engaging stakeholders, and supporting complex, high-impact initiatives.

Level/Classification: APS6

Contract Duration: 12 Months + Possibility of 12 Months extension

Location: Canberra, ACT | Melbourne, VIC

Requirements:

  • Ability and willing to obtain Baseline Clearance
  • Selection Criteria Response

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead stakeholder workshops, map requirements, surface risks, and build alignment
  • Develop procurement documents, business cases, financial models, and delivery artefacts
  • Coordinate delivery actions across transformation, procurement, or financial streams
  • Support procurement planning and execution (RFI, RFP, RFQ, evaluations, compliance)
  • Provide hands-on support and structure in dynamic, complex environments
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and uplift internal capabilities
  • Engage with procurement, legal, and probity stakeholders
  • Prepare and present briefings, reports, and updates for executive meetings

Experience and Skills Needed

  • 8+ years across complex programs in at least two of the following:
    • Transformation: Led digital/ICT/service or workforce transformations
    • Business Analysis: Strong in requirements gathering, stakeholder management, traceability
    • Procurement: Knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules and ICT Investment Framework
    • Financials: Developed budgets, forecasts, monitored expenditure, financial reporting
  • Consulting experience across discovery, design, and delivery phases
  • Confident communicator and facilitator – can navigate executive and delivery settings
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and legacy environments with diverse stakeholders
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Finance, Commerce, or related field
  • Certifications in Project/Program Management, BABOK, TOGAF, COBIT, ITIL
  • Interest in inclusive design and accessibility best practices
