Overview

Tenterfield Shire Council is looking for a full-time Library Information & Programs Officer, based in Tenterfield, NSW. Reporting to the Librarian, you'll support daily library operations and lead the development and delivery of community-facing programs that serve children, youth, seniors, and lifelong learners.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining library resources and systems using Libero LMS
  • Assisting with circulation, inter-library loans, reference, and branch exchanges
  • Delivering excellent customer service across a diverse community
  • Developing and delivering programs for children, youth, and seniors
  • Contributing to the planning, promotion, and evaluation of community programs
  • Assisting with grant applications, reporting, and financial administration
  • Managing data collection and research for library reporting and funding
  • Supporting Home Library Services and mobile library deliveries to remote areas
  • Participating in acquisitions planning and service improvement initiatives
  • Undertaking general library duties including cataloguing, shelving, and admin
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience working in a library or closely related setting
  • A Certificate IV in Library and Information Services (or willingness to obtain)
  • A valid NSW Working with Children Check
  • A NSW Class C Driver's Licence (essential for branch delivery and outreach work)

Additionally, experience with Libero Library Management System, program design and evaluation, leadership or team coordination, and grant funding knowledge are highly valued.

  • Tech-savvy with ability to support programs, reporting, and engagement through library technologies
  • Strong research, data collection, and analytics skills to support evidence-based programming and funding
  • Proactive, mature, and a true team player with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage core library operations alongside program development
Remuneration and Benefits
  • Salary range of $70,000 – $80,500 p.a. + 12% Super
  • 9-day fortnight, 4 weeks annual leave, and 15 days sick leave
