Serco, in partnership with Bupa, provide defence-ready clinical and support staff across 50+ on-base locations nationally, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.

Be the health force behind Australia's Defence Force.

Based at the Lavarack, Enoggera, or Amberley Health Centres located on ADF bases, you'll provide much needed clinical support to anticipated 50,000 combined ADF personnel during a critical 3-month exercise.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provision of outpatient assessment and inpatient care
  • Administer medications and provide basic wound care
  • Liaison with other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide coordinated patient management
  • Development and maintenance of patient care plans and patient clinical records, both electronic and paper
  • Provide a high level of quality patient care

Minimum Requirements - Registered Nurses:

  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
  • Minimum of 12 months full-time post-graduate experience within the previous 5 years in an acute care, primary health care or military setting (or part-time equivalent)
  • Current Australian Citizenship and willingness to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance

Minimum Requirements - Enrolled Nurses:

  • Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2), General with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without medication notation
  • Minimum of 2 years full-time post registration nursing experience in an acute care, primary healthcare or military setting within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent)
  • Current Australian Citizenship and willingness to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance

Amberley Health Centre

  • RAAF Base Amberley, the largest Air Force Base in Australia and approximately 50 minutes from Brisbane city.
  • It provides operational and maintenance support for the precision strike element of the Air Combat Group, F/A-18F Super Hornet aircraft. Supports the strategic lift capability for the Australian military's KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT), C-17 Globemaster III heavy lift aircraft and C-27J Spartan battlefield airlifters.
  • The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health and pharmaceutical services to over 6500 RAAF members.
  • The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Thursday (depending on role requirements), and a half day (5.5 hours) Friday.

Enoggera Health Centre

  • Enoggera Health Centre is located at Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane, and provides support to Gallipoli, Victoria, Bulimba, and Damascus Barracks.
  • Established in 1908, this modern military base currently spans 600 hectares with approximately 8000 members.
  • The largest base in South Queensland, it incorporates the Deployable Joint Force Headquarters, a major manoeuvre formation, local support facilities and a range of training facilities.
  • The health centre provides primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical services.
  • This facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend shifts).

Lavarack Health Centre

  • Lavarack Health Centre is located in Townsville at Lavarack Barracks, the largest Army base in Australia.
  • It includes the Operational Deployment Force and facilities to undertake mission rehearsal exercises prior to deployment.
  • The facility provides primary medical, underwater medical, surgical outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to approximately 8000 members.
  • It also operates a 24/7 inpatient low dependency ward.
  • The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend shifts).

Travel to/between multiple Health Centres may be required.
