Position Overview
We're seeking a Workshop Supervisor. Approximately two-thirds of the role involves hands-on mechanical work, including vehicle diagnostics and servicing, requiring practical experience and expertise. The remaining third involves leading a team of six mechanics, apprentices, accessory fitters, and a parts manager. Candidates should have over 5 years of experience managing a workshop, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and fostering a positive team culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage workshop staff, including conducting performance reviews
- Resolve customer issues and deliver top-tier service
- Oversee workshop scheduling and ensure smooth operations
- Continuously develop mechanical and accessory fitting knowledge
- Conduct servicing and repairs on most makes and models, with a focus on the Nissan Patrol Y62
- Perform transmission servicing and thorough inspections to identify vehicle issues
- Install and fit a range of 4WD accessories, including suspensions, brakes, exhausts, long-range tanks, and more
- Diagnose vehicle issues with accuracy and efficiency
- Supervise a team of 5 or more
- Maintain strong leadership and customer service skills
- Display a team-oriented mindset and professional presentation
- Possess a basic level of computer literacy
- Own hand tools; specialty tools will be supplied
- Hold qualification in Automotive Mechanical
- Have basic knowledge of automotive electrical systems
- Maintain a 'can do' attitude
