Our team
The Repository is responsible for managing the samples and digital data submitted under the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act (2006) (OPGGSA) and supporting the release of offshore petroleum acreage for the efficient and sustainable development of Australia’s offshore energy resources. The Repository is also responsible for the storage, maintenance and delivery of an archive of geological resources including offshore and onshore exploration data and samples.
The role
The Client Services Officer is responsible for providing assistance in sourcing relevant and appropriate OPGGSA or similar data for both internal and external clients. In this role, you will respond to client requests that are unique and have a broad range of complexity. You will develop your expertise with the online discovery and self-service portal of the National Offshore Petroleum Information Management System (NOPIMS).
You will be responsible for identifying and delivering advice on data associated with our physical and digital holdings to internal and external clients. As such, you will liaise with internal and external clients on project requirements, independently manage various and often challenging tasks, and be accountable for all the tasks assigned to you and the decisions you make. You will be required to be proactive in improving and developing processes to respond to the changing needs of our data clients and promote Geoscience Australia’s tools to access geological and geophysical information.
