About the role

The Analytics & Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for supporting the Analytics and Business Intelligence team in developing and maintaining the RACT data warehouse and Business Intelligence environment to ensure efficient and timely access to relevant data and analytics solutions.

Key responsibilities
  • Handle ad hoc requests and recommend solutions on data questions, information, problems and reports.
  • Design, implement and continuously improve complex data structures, data models and Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Work within an agile development framework as coordinated by the Analytics & Business Intelligence Manager.
  • Participate in data & analytics projects as they arise.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for optimisation and automation.
  • Coordinate, develop and maintain documentation on data products and solutions, including design, architecture, standards & specifications, version control, metadata and user guides.
  • Create data & analytics solutions from prototype to production status.
  • Support the RACT's commitment to the prevention and detection of fraud, corruption and theft by complying with applicable laws and internal practice.
Successful candidates will have
  • Tertiary level grounding in data & analytics or related field (or relevant experience).
  • Demonstrated technical skills in data warehousing, Business Intelligence, semantic data modelling, Extract, Transform & Load (ETL or ELT processing), Structured Query Language (SQL) and scripting (e.g. Python) across a modern enterprise data system environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, understand and process data from complex structures and multiple sources to achieve desired analytics & BI objectives.
  • Ability to manage expectations through effective prioritisation and delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
