About the role

This Principal Data Engineer contract role (up to 6 months) will partner closely with senior stakeholders to deliver impactful data solutions. Reporting into the Head of Data, you'll provide technical leadership, shape strategy, and work within a collaborative hybrid Sydney-based team.

They are looking for someone that can start ASAP - max 2 weeks' notice

Duties / Key responsibilities
  • Design, build, and optimise scalable data solutions in Snowflake
  • Lead data pipeline development using dbt or similar tools
  • Leverage AWS for big data and analytics solutions
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand needs and deliver insights
  • Provide technical leadership and best practice guidance
Skills and experience
  • Proven experience as a principal Data Engineer with large-scale data environments
  • Strong Snowflake expertise and hands-on experience with dbt or similar
  • Proficiency with AWS
  • Background in big data technologies and analytics
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
