As we expand our business, an opportunity has become available for a career minded hospitality professional to work as a Venue and Events Manager for Blanco Horner for their Adelaide CBD Based Venues and General Outside Catering Division, including The Rose Garden Pavilion, South Australian Museum Pavilion, and Greater Adelaide and Regional South Australian locations.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for:


• Providing a high level of customer service

• Responsible for all staff and venue operations

• Execution of various style events including weddings, sit down lunch/dinners, cocktail events, meetings and conferencing etc.

• Overseeing all administration of the function venue

• Develop and implement service and operating procedures.

• Manage all event enquiries, quotes, and event orders for all departments.

• Responsible for all wage, food and beverage costs and general expenses

• Implementing and executing training procedures relating to level of standard of service, dress codes and appearance.

• To provide leadership and assist in strategic planning which ensure all operations are performing at a high standard in both product and professionalism.

• Provide guidance and direction to managers and supervisors to perform any duties on a given day.

• Providing weekly and monthly reports

To be successful in this role you will need to have:


• Significant management experience in front of house operations associated with event, conference, and banquet catering.

• Exceptional customer service across all channels – written, phone and face to face.

• Excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.

• Sound administration understanding (use of booking systems, Microsoft programs, emails etc.)

• Experience in training and development of staff

• Excellent communication, time management and problem solving abilities

• Immaculate presentation

• Ability to confidently interact at all levels, including dealing professionally with local, national and international clientele.

• Be a skilled team-player, who adapts easily to a professional, structured and positive team environment.

• Pleasant and helpful in nature, with a strong customer service focus
