Apprentice Panel Beater – AMA Group Ltd

Western Truck Repairs is a division under AMA Group - Heavy Motors. We offer a complete range of services, from minor mechanical and accident repairs to hand-finished rebuilds. We work with towing and salvaging operators to provide end-to-end service for each job. Our location near Melbourne's Ring Road and Westgate Bridge places us in the heart of the local trucking community, with a team including experienced panel beaters, mechanics, body builders, fabricators, spray painters, chassis aligners and electricians.

We are excited to have an Apprentice Panel Beater join the team at Western Truck Repairs. As an Apprentice Panel Beater, you will work under the guidance of experienced panel beaters to learn the skills and techniques required to produce high quality finishes on heavy vehicles.

Role Responsibilities
  • Repairing and replacing damaged bodywork on trucks, buses and trailers, using welding and cutting techniques and specialised equipment
  • Disassembling vehicles
  • Labeling parts and storing accordingly
  • Checking new parts are correct and not damaged
  • Reassembling vehicle as per Job Sheet
You will be required to
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate PPE is worn at all times
  • Handle all company tools and equipment with due care and attention ensuring they remain safe, clean and in a workable condition
  • Complete all course theory work by the due date as required
