Position InformationGosford High School is a selective secondary school that caters to academically high-achieving students, with a current enrolment of 1,074 students from Years 7 to 12. Academic excellence and the pursuit of personal best are central to the school's vision and purpose.

Specific Selection CriteriaIn addition to the general selection criteria, applicants must have approval and demonstrated expertise in teaching English Years 7–12, including Extension 1 and Extension 2. Proven ability to lead an English faculty in implementing the new Stage 6 syllabus, embedding high-quality teaching, assessment, and differentiation to engage high-potential and gifted learners. Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with the executive team by aligning faculty practice with whole-school strategic directions and leading professional learning to embed evidence-informed approaches that improve teaching quality and student growth. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive and respectful relationships with students, staff and families.
General Selection Criteria- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department\'s Aboriginal education policy
