The Opportunity

The Finance Business Partner (FBP) is a key strategic role within the FP&A team, responsible for driving financial performance by partnering with business leaders across the organisation. This role provides financial insights, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical support to enhance decision-making and optimise business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Act as a trusted advisor to key business units, providing financial guidance and insights
  2. Develop strong relationships with operational teams to influence decision-making and drive financial performance
  3. Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for assigned business units, ensuring accuracy and alignment with overall company goals
  4. Perform variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing recommendations to senior management
  5. Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders
  6. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including month-end analysis and board reports
  7. Taking ownership of and preparing financial statements, including the commentaries
  8. Drive process improvements in reporting, leveraging automation and best practices
  9. Monitor and analyse revenue, costs, and profitability to support operational efficiency and growth
  10. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation within FP&A
  11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on initiatives such as pricing strategies, capital investments, and operational efficiencies

Skills And Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  2. 5+ years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or a related role, plus at least 3 years in a similar Finance Business Partner role
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  4. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  5. Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting
  6. Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting systems (e.g., Domo, SQL)

Desirable:

  1. CPA, CA, CIMA, or CFA qualification (or working towards one)
  2. Experience in Retail Industry
  3. Experience with Planful
