We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Procurement Officer (AO6) to join the team and contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse range of capital infrastructure projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end procurement process for capital infrastructure projects, including the preparation and calling of tenders, evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Conduct comprehensive purchasing activities across various categories, including construction, maintenance, consulting, and upgrade works.
  • Apply advanced evaluation and regulatory techniques to ensure compliance and best value outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, operations staff, and external partners, to provide sourcing advice and guidance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors and suppliers for effective contract performance and dispute resolution.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures aligned with best practices and regulations.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior procurement staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and contribute positively to team culture, maintaining high standards of customer service.
Essential Requirements
  • Extensive experience in a senior procurement role, with a thorough understanding of procurement functions.
  • Proven experience in preparing and calling capital infrastructure tenders and conducting purchasing activities for construction, maintenance, consulting, and upgrade projects.
  • Expertise in evaluation and regulatory techniques.
  • Strong understanding of contract terms, conditions, negotiation, and management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a results-oriented approach.
  • Experience in a government procurement environment is highly desirable.
