Senior Mechanical Engineer

We're looking for a Senior or Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our national water team in Adelaide. You'll lead the delivery of complex engineering solutions across large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants and pump stations (>500 L/s).

You'll bring deep expertise in:

• Mechanical design and commissioning
• Equipment selection and specification
• Process optimisation
• Construction support
• Risk management aligned with WHS and industry standards

Ideally, you've led teams through all project phases from planning and concept design to procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.

As a Senior Engineer, you will:

• Provide technical leadership and oversight of mechanical design and installation
• Collaborate on bids and tenders, reviewing documentation and refining cost estimates
• Work with procurement teams to define scopes and coordinate vendor engagement
• Build strong client relationships and act as a key technical liaison
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Drive innovation and ensure successful project outcomes

You'll ideally be a Chartered Professional Engineer with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or related discipline), and have:

• Proven leadership in mechanical design for water/wastewater treatment projects
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Familiarity with digital engineering platforms (e.g. BIM/Revit)
• Ability to deliver under pressure and manage competing priorities
• Excellent technical writing and organisational skills
• A passion for mentoring and team development
