Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team based in our Brisbane office.

This is a lead engineering secondment role, required to provide electrical engineering subject matter expertise and direct an electrical biased team for our Client's brown and greenfield projects.

Responsibilities
  • Electrical Lead for Outside Fenceline HV transmissions infrastructure connection to the grid. The HV transmissions infrastructure scope encompasses overhead lines, switchyard, substations, underground lines as well as subsea power cable via HDD. Experience with underground cable design highly beneficial.
  • Integration and co-ordination of all electrical interface elements across the Inside Fenceline LNG facility and the Outside Fenceline HV transmission scope.
  • Producing necessary electrical study scopes of work including grid connection study scope and providing necessary discipline input into developing a Basis for Design or FEED study package.
  • Review of all electrical engineering deliverables typical within a Basis for Design and FEED package, in accordance with TNSP (Powerlink) or industry standards. Engaging and aligning with our Clients electrical technical authorities.
  • Input into design, safety and constructability reviews.
  • Experience in construction & commissioning of HV overhead & underground lines and HV substations.
  • Electrical and study lead for coordination of grid connection (GPS and CPS) studies (carried out by specialist grid connection consultant) required to finalise R0 package submission to the TNSP (Powerlink). Require demonstration of an understanding of the TNSP (Powerlink) and AEMO grid connections process to satisfy regulatory requirements. Experience with developing GPS and/or CPS studies, reporting and responding to technical queries to/from TNSP and AEMO is a bonus.
  • Managing electrical information interfaces and associated data exchange between suppliers, TNSP (Powerlink) and AEMO.
  • Ability to work effectively, respectfully and inclusively with a wide-ranging set of internal and external stakeholders, including other discipline leads, various suppliers of electrical equipment including transformer vendors, electric motor vendors, subsea and land HV cable suppliers, TNSP (Powerlink), AEMO and other interested parties collaborating on the HV transmissions infrastructure.
  • Abide by our clients' Golden Rules of Comply, Intervene and Respect.
Qualifications
  • Experience generating study reports, scopes of work, equipment specifications and datasheets.
  • Experience generating engineering estimates and quotations.
  • Strong focus on safety in design.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent team management skills in a challenging work environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.
  • Ability to build and sustain customer relationships.
  • Must convey a professional image with customers.
  • Familiar with applicable industry codes and processes.
  • Relevant Engineering Degree (eligible for membership to Engineers Australia).
  • Registered Professional Engineer (RPEQ).
