About the Job

Are you ready to turn your design/forensic engineering passion into a dynamic career with growth opportunities? Randstad is partnering with this State Government department to find a passionate and skilled Senior Structural Engineer to provide technical expertise and guidance. In this role, you will support the Engineering teams for structural design and investigation, collaborating with business partners to adopt suitable new technologies. Your designing attention to detail abilities will be crucial in resolving issues for optimal outcomes.

As an experienced engineer, you will influence and contribute expertise across the corporation, working with other teams on site to investigate and resolve problems and processes. You will maintain high engineering proficiency, delivering exceptional advice and technical auditing services.

Your new role:

  1. Provide expert support in Structural design/technical engineering matters across the corporation.
  2. Offer technical guidance in Safety in Design (SiD) matters.
  3. Collaborate with the Principal Engineer to enhance the teams' capabilities.
  4. Identify and evaluate new technologies, driving innovation and best practice improvements in Structural engineering standards and practices.
  5. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders ensuring effective communication with engineering teams, project managers, vendors, and contractors.
  6. Determine suitability of new and emerging technology to benefit the corporation.
  7. Support the Engineering teams for structural investigation.
  8. Travel to sites to assess engineering situations frequently.

This role has the ability to influence the engineering team working with the Principal Engineer to achieve the company objectives. As the Senior Engineer of the Team, you will need the following to be successful:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  2. Sound knowledge of Structural engineering procedures and practices.
  3. Experience in the provision of investigation, concept, and detailed design of Structural infrastructure.
  4. Demonstrated experience in executing complex and critical engineering investigations.
  5. Knowledge to develop project-specific structural specifications.
  6. Knowledge of Australian design codes and standards would be desirable.
  7. Extensive experience with structural analysis software and design tools.
  8. Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia (EA) or in the process of obtaining chartership with EA.
