Short Summary

The CFO needs a qualified accountant with Australian accounting standards experience for a temporary assignment. Use this advert profile base for the finance team relocation to Perth, the post-merger restructure project, the major change project post system implementation in March, and the pending approved FID finance team expansion hiring process Feb/MARCH (17 hires).

The Role

This is a temporary assignment to start immediately and would suit candidates with prior Australian accounting standards experience via IFRS and GAAP.

Daily Work Will Include:
  1. GL, bank, and intercompany account reconciliation.
  2. Journal posting accuracy and historical financial data accuracy evaluations.
  3. Ensure roll up of financials through Pronto system in AP/AR and GL entries are accurate to PO.
Monthly Work Will Include:
  1. Preparation of financial statements in support of the Finance Manager.
  2. Support for the management reporting packs prior to board report papers.
  3. Analysis of budgets versus actuals, variance commentary, and analysis.
  4. Financials Day 3 and management pack Day 4 – work to timetable and pre work to ensure communication lines are transparent and widely accessible.
March End of Quarter Work:
  1. Assist in the quarterly reporting process.
  2. System evaluation for financial data accuracy and test data sets for variations to forecast.
Budget Season Commencement:
  1. February pre-budget meeting sessions with multiple BU owners.
  2. Evaluation of budget preparation notes and process from 2024 budget.
  3. March/April engagement for budget pre-work and execution.

This is a fast-paced, dynamic and thoroughly enjoyable financial to commercial arena requiring high levels of accounting accuracy, skills and knowledge with the highest levels of communication, influencing and negotiation training in globally recognised education hubs.

Prior placements in this sector have gone on to lead finance teams and drive financial control either through FC, GFC or CFO positions within 6 years.
