At Ernest Henry, you can choose what suits your priorities. Work an attractive fly-in / fly-out (FIFO) roster from Cairns or Townsville, or a drive-in / drive-out (DIDO) roster and take advantage of our top-class camp, or live local in the close-knit community of Cloncurry and be home every night.

This roster is 8 / 6 days only 12-hour shifts.

About the role

Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, you will form an integral part of the Facilities team by delivering high quality gardener services that are vital to the ongoing success of the Ernest Henry Mining operation.

Key responsibilities include :

• Performing general gardening and landscaping duties including mowing, whipper snipping, pruning, and edging
• Installing and maintaining irrigation systems across village and housing areas
• Removing and disposing of green waste and applying weed / pest control measures (subject to qualifications)
• Maintaining the appearance and condition of all outdoor spaces
• Operating and maintaining gardening tools and equipment
• Conducting routine inspections and implementing improvements to gardens and grounds
• Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities
• Working safely and cooperatively within a team environment
• Supporting emergency response activities (manual driver's licence required)

About you

You will hold relevant Horticulture / gardening qualifications, additional tickets such as Forklift, EWP, Chainsaw, Confined Space, Tractor and Working at Heights are highly regarded as is having a manual driver's licence. Certifications in pest / weed management are highly regarded. You will have previous experience in a similar role, preferably in remote or mining environments. You must be reliable, safety-focused, and capable of working independently in physically demanding conditions.
