Our Macquarie Legal and Governance Group's Commercial team comprises high-performing individuals who provide legal and strategic advice, as well as deal execution capabilities, on complex and high-value technology transactions. This includes negotiating core infrastructure and cloud contracts and advising on innovative financial services use cases leveraging generative AI. You will play a key role in supporting the Group's technology strategy.

What role will you play?

As a Technology and Commercial Lawyer in the central Commercial Legal team, you'll support core technology, cybersecurity, and network services that power Macquarie, as well as the technology needs of our four operating businesses. Your attention to detail, risk management skills, and commercial acumen will ensure contracts with technology and commercial partners are well-drafted and negotiated, enabling our businesses to execute their technology strategies while managing legal and regulatory risks.

What you offer
  • Admitted to practice in Australia with at least 5 years' experience, either in-house as a technology lawyer or in private practice within a TMT/IT team.
  • Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts related to SaaS, cloud offerings, software licensing, and regulated outsourcing.
  • An innovative mindset and openness to change.
  • A team player committed to providing quality service to internal clients across diverse projects.
  • Financial services experience is advantageous but not mandatory; relevant experience in other sectors is also considered.
  • Experience advising on data privacy, cyber security, fraud, prudential regulation, and emerging technologies like natural language systems and generative AI is highly regarded.
