All of our students participate in our compulsory music program from ELC through to Year 8, with the option for boys to continue with their music as an elective in their senior years. Our students are provided the opportunity to participate in ensembles/choirs and our instrumental program is thriving.

The role

Applications are currently sought from talented and accomplished upper strings music tutors to join our vibrant Music Department, ideally starting ASAP.

The upper strings tutor is responsible for tutoring violin/viola students across the School individually or in groups. From time to time, the successful candidate may be required to be actively involved in the extra-curricular music program of the School. Involvement in additional orchestra rehearsals, chamber music and concert evenings may be required from time to time, as is the ability to be actively involved in all areas of the Music program of the School.

As a casual position, a couple of hours/week is available for the right applicant, preferably worked on Wednesday or Thursday.

Key Requirements For This Role Include

• Relevant skills and experience in musicianship and tutelage of the upper strings in a school environment.
• Advanced skills as an Upper Strings Tutor.
• Current experience tutoring students (all levels) in accordance with AMEB syllabus for examination preparation.
• A demonstrated ability to enthuse, motivate and encourage students to participate in School Music ensembles.
• A current Working with Children Check is essential for this position. Should you not have a current check, you would be expected to apply for one should you be successful in securing the position.
