Overview

Executive Assistant to the CEO and Mayor at City of Karratha.

This role is not a traditional EA — it is a strategically significant position for a highly capable individual who thrives under pressure, builds trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, and drives continuous improvement in executive administration and governance systems. You'll work side-by-side with the CEO and Mayor, providing high-level support and managing the smooth, coordinated operation of the Office of the CEO. You'll also govern and coordinate the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and lead the City's Executive Assistant cohort to deliver consistent, high-quality support across the organisation.

What you'll be doing
  • Delivering high-level, confidential support to the CEO and Mayor with professionalism and foresight.
  • Coordinating all aspects of ELT operations – meetings, governance calendars, actions, and outcomes.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of Executive Assistants, uplifting capability and ensuring consistent service excellence across the City.
  • Driving improvements to executive workflows, systems, and internal processes.
  • Acting as a key liaison for internal and external stakeholders, including Councillors, government representatives, and community leaders.
What we're looking for
  • Proven experience supporting CEOs, Mayors, or senior executives in complex or political environments.
  • Exceptional communication, judgement, and leadership skills with a drive to get things done right.
  • A natural organiser with attention to detail and advanced Microsoft 365/SharePoint skills.
  • A trusted professional with a Diploma in Business Administration (or similar) and at least five years in a senior support role.
  • A high level of integrity, discretion, and emotional intelligence.

Salary: A$119,565.00/yr plus super. Housing negotiable. This reflects base pay as provided by City of Karratha and may vary with skills and experience.
