About the Role

We are searching for a number of Travel Consultants to join our Outpost team Known internally as a Global Connection Officer (GCO), you will be a sales catalyst, relationship developer, service zealot, organizational wizard, traveller, trainer, problem solver, and company culture enthusiast all rolled into one

Your mission as a GCO, if you choose it, is to connect with our travellers and agency partners; recommending and selling them the right trips based on their unique needs. This role is office-based where a set number of days is required by the region. You will therefore ideally live within a commutable distance to our office in Brisbane.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Reach monthly sales targets while driving exceptional customer service KPIs.
2. Work with both speed and efficiency while consistently displaying compassion and care in every interaction.
3. Handle any booking issues calmly and with empathy.
4. Differentiating your service to provide a uniquely G experience for our travellers.

How your Mission is Achieved:

1. Connect with our prospective travellers both over the phone and via email.
2. Ask the right questions to ascertain the needs of each unique traveller.
3. Recommend and sell the right trip for the traveller based on their needs including any extra services that may enhance their experience.
4. Ensure the use of correct booking processes and procedures to minimize risk and reduce error rates.
5. Act at all times with the purpose of providing a life-changing experience.
6. Be an integral part of G Adventures amazing company culture and live by the G Adventures Core values.
7. Make meaningful connections with both the global team (including over 100 GCOs) but also your travellers.

Required Skills:

1. Minimum 1 year front-line sales experience, motivated by revenue targets and service KPIs.
2. A love of sales and travel.
3. Experience using a GDS system, preferable but not mandatory.
4. Superior selling skills & exceptional customer service skills are required.
5. Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
6. Problem-solving/complaint resolution skills.
7. Extensive geographical knowledge & travel experience.
8. Flexible and energetic, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
9. Ability to work varying shifts and weekends as required.
10. Ability to navigate and use a variety of computer systems confidently with speed and efficiency.
11. Understanding of, and identification with, G Adventures' Core Values.
