Job Description

The Equipment Inspectors are part of our Detailed Equipment Information (DEI) team. They are responsible for performing accurate and thorough visual inspections (e.g., wear points, damage, hour meter readings) and functional testing (e.g., basic operations) on heavy equipment.

Responsibilities
  1. Gather and verify equipment inventory information (e.g., contract proofs, equipment additions, serial numbers).
  2. Identify and record equipment components, accessories, and asset details.
  3. Verify equipment descriptions based on our Equipment Standards Manual.
  4. Ensure the quality of equipment data and related information.
  5. Verify requirements for warranty applicable items.
  6. Document and photograph the equipment.
  7. Assist the DEI Team as needed.
  8. Support the Sales team with appraisals and write-ups in the field during peak periods.
  9. Promote a culture prioritizing health and safety for employees and customers.
  10. Support RB Unreserved's Safety Commitment: ensuring everyone goes home safely, taking personal responsibility for safety.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Fluency in French and/or English.
  2. Experience in equipment management (inspections, inventory, appraisals) and/or inventory control, preferably in auction or heavy equipment sectors.
  3. Knowledge of industrial and/or agricultural equipment, trucks, and trailers.
  4. Proficiency with computers, MS Office Suite, and digital cameras.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills (using two-way radios and phones).
  6. Clear handwriting for easy reading.
  7. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  9. Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  10. Customer service orientation.
