About the role

Reporting to the Supervisor – Underground Fixed Mechanical Maintenance, this position is responsible for prioritizing the maintenance and optimal functionality of materials handling, hoisting, and dewatering systems. The role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability through proactive inspection, diagnosis, and repair, while promoting a safety-first culture. Key responsibilities include:

• Stopping unsafe tasks and reporting potential hazards, near hits, or incidents promptly, ensuring hazards are entered in INX.
• Applying effective risk controls using recognized risk management tools.
• Conducting regular assurance interactions and inspections, entering them into the INX system.
• Maintaining up-to-date personal training to ensure competence in assigned tasks.
• Promoting a positive safety culture through awareness and leading by example.
• Ensuring compliance with Mines Act/Regulations and relevant standards for a safe workplace.
• Ensuring ongoing asset compliance through Maintenance Standard Tasks and ad-hoc work orders.
• Completing S1, S2, S3 before hosting contractors.
• Managing and training apprentices, setting a leadership example
• Upholding Evolution's values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability, and Respect while complying with all company policies and maintaining a safe, healthy work environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining) and have experience in fixed plant maintenance within a mining environment. You should demonstrate the ability to deliver results, follow instructions, and contribute to team success while adapting to change, remaining resilient under pressure. You will be responsible for managing both planned and unplanned tasks efficiently, working both independently and as part of a team. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills at all levels are essential, along with effective verbal and written communication. This role also requires strategic thinking, planning, problem-solving, and well-developed collaboration skills. Safety is always paramount, and you must be committed to always maintaining a safe working environment.
