Overview

Bureau Veritas is a global leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification services. We are seeking a permanent Laboratory Technician to join our Newcastle site. The focus of this role will be performing manual handling tasks to prepare large physical coal samples for testing and simulating coal production processes to test the properties of coal samples.

Responsibilities
  • Perform manual handling tasks to prepare large coal samples for testing.
  • Participate in simulation of coal production processes to test coal sample properties.
Qualifications
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks.
  • Certificate III or IV in Laboratory Skills (preferred but not required).
  • Previous laboratory or sample preparation experience in any field would be well regarded but is not essential.
  • A methodical and well organised approach to your work.
  • Ability to pass an Order 43 Medical.
  • Valid NSW driver's license.
  • Must be reliable and with good communication skills.
  • Safety is an absolute. Ongoing Drug & Alcohol testing and site inductions will be a requirement of working on site.
  • Must live locally in the Newcastle region.
  • NO FIFO.
