Established in 2002, NLC Engineering is a locally-owned & operated business specialising in Line Boring, General & CNC Machining & Engineering. We pride ourselves on providing quality products, friendly service and fast turnaround times to clients throughout Kalgoorlie as well as the Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia.

We are currently looking for experienced individuals to fill the following positions:

  • Welders / Boilermakers
  • Heavy Diesel Fitters / Diesel Mechanics
  • Line Borers
  • CNC / Manual Machinists

These are full-time, on-site roles located in Kalgoorlie, WA. The wage range is $ $75.00 per hour, commensurate with skills and experience. All applicants must hold a current driver's license or be able to obtain one.

Welders / Boilermakers
  • Trade qualification and 2 years related experience (preferred).
  • MIG and TIG welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Strong safety focus and adherence to WHS policies.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to solve problems.
  • Applicants with relevant experience in lieu of qualifications are encouraged to apply.
Heavy Diesel Fitters / Diesel Mechanics
  • Heavy Diesel Mechanical Trade Certificate - Australian Recognised (preferred).
  • Minimum three (3) years post-trade experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics (well regarded).
  • Experience in mobile equipment repairs.
  • Component replacement, breakdown diagnostics, and general servicing.
  • Pro-active in resolving issues with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety & Zero Harm.
  • Relevant experience in lieu of qualifications is encouraged.
Line Borers

As a Line Borer, you will set up and operate line boring machinery to repair or produce metal components, including drilling, turning, and boring to tight tolerances.

  • Experience operating line boring machinery and using manual and power tools.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances.
  • Fitment of bushes and pins in completed bores.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques.
  • Ability to inspect finished products for quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Relevant certifications such as welding, machining, or engineering are desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
CNC / Manual Machinists
  • Trade qualified CNC Machinist / Programmer or manual machinist.
  • Previous workshop experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Positive work attitude.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant experience in lieu of qualifications is encouraged.
