We have new opportunities for Mechanical (Fitter) Apprentices to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program based at the Osborne Naval Shipyard — one of the most digitally advanced naval shipyards in the world. We are now accepting applications for our 2026 apprenticeship program, commencing in February. It's an exciting time to join us and a great place to start a career in shipbuilding. As a Mechanical (Fitter) Apprentice you will gain practical experience working in the shipyard, whilst completing a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with removing, repairing and installing mechanical components and equipment.
- Participate in preventative and corrective maintenance tasks.
- Use workshop machines to produce components.
- Applying health and safety processes in the workplace.
- Contributing to improving business culture with regards to people, process and systems.
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you will have:
