Why your role matters
The Senior Change Manager is a strategic role within UNSW's Enterprise Data Office (EDO), responsible for driving both strategic and operational change in support of the University's data transformation agenda. The role is key to fostering a data-informed culture by leading initiatives that embed enterprise data platforms, tools, and practices.
This position oversees change, communication, and engagement across the EDO, developing and executing strategies to support new data capabilities and BAU operations. Responsibilities include managing impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and benefits tracking to support University-wide adoption of new ways of working.
The Senior Change Manager will collaborate closely with project teams, EDO leadership, and stakeholders across UNSW to build awareness, readiness, and capability for change. The role ensures alignment between the data strategy and broader organisational priorities, while managing risks and removing barriers to change.
Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the role may lead a small team focused on change, communications, and training.

- Manage internal communications for the Enterprise Data Office, including the development of newsletters, announcements, and updates to build awareness, promote transparency, and foster a data-informed culture across the University.
- Identify, assess, and manage change-related risks associated with enterprise data initiatives, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place to enable successful adoption.
- Provide strategic leadership, coaching, and support to project teams, business units, and stakeholders to build internal capability and maturity in data-centric change and communication practices.
- Support the design and transition to data-enabled operating models, including the definition of new roles, capabilities, and the integration of changes into ongoing business operations.
- Assess organisational readiness across academic and professional staff for enterprise data initiatives, ensuring communication, training, and engagement activities are appropriately targeted and delivered.
- Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across faculties, schools, and portfolios to support the EDO's change and engagement objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Engagement Officer, ensuring engagement strategies, stakeholder interactions, and communications align with EDO priorities and values.
- Oversee the tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement of change initiatives, including monitoring success metrics, adoption levels, and benefits realisation.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and operating rhythm of the Enterprise Data Office, ensuring change and communication activities align with divisional priorities, initiatives, and timelines.

- Proven experience delivering effective change management within large-scale programs, particularly in complex or matrixed environments.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to influence, coach, and support teams and stakeholders.
