Position: Expression of Interest for Town Maintenance Officers

The East Kimberley is an extraordinarily beautiful and sparsely populated area in the northeast corner of Western Australia, known for its wilderness, tourism, and outdoor activities. The Opportunity:

We are seeking Town Maintenance Officers to join our Operations Team to maintain reserves, roads, drainage, reticulation systems, and other works within the Kununurra town site and surrounding areas. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance and construction projects to enhance parks, sporting facilities, open spaces, reserves, cemeteries, streets, and amenities;
  • Roadside maintenance such as tree planting, litter removal, trimming, storm cleanup;
  • Gardening duties including mowing, fertilizing, planting, pruning, edging, reticulation maintenance, and weed control;
  • Operating fleet and plant equipment safely and reporting faults;
  • Maintaining equipment logs and ensuring tools and workshop standards are met;
  • Participating in team meetings, training, and following organizational procedures;
  • Contributing to team planning and improving work efficiency.

Essential qualifications include a Certificate III in Civil Construction or Horticulture, a current Blue/White Construction Safety Card, an unrestricted WA 'HR' Class Driver's Licence, and experience in equipment operation and outdoor work in East Kimberley conditions. Good customer service, time management, and communication skills are also required.

This pool remains open for 12 months, with potential for permanent, fixed-term, full-time, or part-time appointments as vacancies arise.

The total remuneration package ranges from $84,000 to $89,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
