Investment Services Operations Specialist

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Investment Services team at Mercer Pacific. This role will be based in Melbourne. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

  • Support the effective management of risk and governance within the Investment Services team by identifying operational risks, implementing controls, and promoting best practices.
  • Serve as the Investment Services Risk Champion by managing incidents through to closure, participating in risk training, providing training to team members, and representing the team in risk management meetings.
  • Assist with fund establishment, terminations, and investment manager transitions, including liaising with custodians and the Fund Implementation and Product teams to plan, execute and review product changes.
  • Oversee corporate and class actions, stale price reviews and coordinate with third-party service providers to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Risk & Compliance, Internal Audit, and Vendor Management to ensure controls are robust and processes are compliant.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Financial Services industry, preferably with experience in investment operations, fund management, or custodial services.
  • Strong understanding of Australian financial services regulations, especially related to superannuation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting deadlines.
