Overview

Senior M365 / Cloud Engineer (Federal Government) – 6-month contract with long-term extension options. Hybrid working arrangements, located in Canberra.

Responsibilities
  • Implementation and management of cloud-based SaaS solutions across the Microsoft 365 suite, with strong skills in Exchange Online, Teams and OneDrive.
  • Maintain a strong security mindset and manage platform and endpoints with Azure RBAC and Microsoft Defender while adhering to government legislative obligations.
  • Understand Data Loss Prevention, Archiving, eDiscovery, and Compliance in Purview.
  • Knowledge and experience with Azure; fundamental understanding of core network concepts and applications across Azure services.
  • Understand network components (including Azure cloud services) such as routing, firewalls and network security principles.
  • Experience in SOE management using Intune and Applications Packaging, as well as delivery of Desktops and RemoteApp via Azure Virtual Desktops (AVD).
  • Proven experience with Microsoft PowerShell and other automation technologies.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with end users, stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines, take initiative and operate with limited information and ambiguity.
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer and mentor staff as appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft 365 cloud engineering and related security controls in government contexts.
  • Experience with Azure services, Intune, AVD, PowerShell, and DevOps tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ITSM frameworks and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
