About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Automotive tradesperson to join our Launceston roadside patrol team. This role truly is the core of RACT, and we're looking for someone who shares the same values as us and has a genuine interest in helping people.
We're also looking for someone who has experience working on a vast range of vehicle makes and models and can find solutions for our members.
The position requires a commitment of an average of 38 hours per week, with work undertaken in rotating rosters, including shifts covering days, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Successful candidates will have:
Automotive Trade Qualification (motor mechanic or auto electrician) with a reasonable amount of posttrade experience.
Current class C drivers licence without restrictions
Strong problem diagnostic skills, with experience in current engine management systems.
Sound knowledge of battery and charging technologies including sales and fitment.
Sound knowledge of diesel powertrains and basic electrical principals.
Understanding of Electric Vehicles and their operating systems
Flexibility to work varying levels of shift work and overtime outside of the normal "9 to 5" including weekends on occasions as required
High level of customer service and communication skills, with an emphasis on showing empathy andintegrity and building trust.
Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
Ability to work with minimal direct supervision in somehigh riskenvironments.
Pride in presentation of both equipment and self.
